In the book The Billion Dollar Secret: 20 Principles of Billionaire Wealth and Success, the author Rafael Badziag revealed not just one but six common qualities of the twenty-one billionaires he interviewed.
He dedicated five years of his life, gathering frugal pieces of advice from rich and successful businessmen and investors. After meticulously examining the results of his interviews, he trimmed down the top six common attributes all billionaires have.
Discipline is the Key
The first one may be a cliché, but it is definitely one of the most critical aspects when it comes to doing business, and that is discipline. Badzaig said that the billionaires he talked to are the most analytical and well-regulated people he has ever met. All of them strive only for the best and expect nothing but the highest level of quality on themselves and on other people.
He also acknowledged their determination and commitment to success that even on the days that they feel lazy, they find no excuse to get up from the bed and work hard.
Following Routines
Most of us hate routines. We don’t take pleasure in doing a task over and over again because we feel like there is no growth in doing so, and we get bored. Little do we know that routines are one of the secret ingredients to becoming a billionaire!
It actually still goes down to commitment. These billionaires are so devoted to doing their routines, that their daily lives won’t be complete without accomplishing their regular routines. We guess, the secret there is doing it over and over again until we perfect it.
Introspection
Although these billionaires spend most of their time in the office, having a quiet time by themselves is also very important. Sometimes, the wildest ideas come when we clear our mind off from work. Having a breather every once in a while helps us to re-center and re-focus our minds.
Reading
One way to take a productive day-off is to spend it with books. Life is a continuous learning process, and even when you’re already at the top of your game, there’s still a lot that you might learn through browsing reading materials such as trade publications, informational textbooks, and even in novels that we read for fun.
Health is Wealth
And of course, what good the wealth can do if your health suffers? All of the billionaires Badzaig interviewed take time to hit the gym, and pay attention to their physical wellness. Some of them play sports as a hobby, while most of them were actually athletes during their prime.
Early Bird
Lastly, being a morning person is also very crucial if you want to become a billionaire. All 21 entrepreneurs that Badzaig interviewed typically wake up as early as 5:30 in the morning. As the old saying goes, the early bird catches the worm.
