Kim, The Business Woman
Kim Kardashian once told a media outlet that she had been a businesswoman long before her career on TV started. According to the reality TV star, she had been a business person right from high school when she worked in her father's law office as well as a boutique.
It was during that time that she learned about eBay and started selling all kinds of stuff on it. Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney opened their first store (DASH) in 2006 in California.
They later opened more stores, but Kim announced last year that they would stop operating the stores as each of the sisters were working on their own families and brands.
Kim once noted that the actual idea for her family's highly successful reality show was to get attention for their DASH brand.
The show ended up becoming so big, and last year it was ranked as second on the list of the best reality shows in history. MTV's "Real World" was ranked the first. The show is currently on the 16th season.
Past and Current Businesses
Sometime in 2009, Kim Kardashian released a workout plan and in its promotional video, she described the plan as very stylized and high fashion and that it perfectly mirrors her.
According to her, she developed it majorly because several people kept asking how she managed to maintain her shape. In response, she stated that while she worked with a number of trainers, she also was able to get a routine that was good for her. The workout videos were built around that method.
In April 2010, Kardashian Glamour Tan debuted on the beauty market. The Glamour Tan is a self-tanning gel the three sisters created, and at that time, it was exclusive to only Sephora and went for $34.
However, one can now get a tube on Amazon for $79. Six months after that, she launched into the perfume industry with her perfume which was named after her.
Other Career Paths
In 2011, Kim and her other sisters launched a clothing line with Sears known as Kardashian Kollection. Later that same year, she launched her second fragrance, Gold.
She released "Kim Kardashian Love", her third fragrance prior to her wedding in 2011 to Kris Humphries. In 2012, she launched "True Reflection”, which is her fourth fragrance. She released her Android and iPhone game known as "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood" in 2014 and in just its first 5 days, it reportedly grossed $1.6 million.
Kim Kardashian has tried her hands on different businesses, and she still keeps building her professional and personal brands. That may be why the reality star is considering becoming a lawyer.
She recently announced that she is already studying to take the bar exam in 2022. She told a media outlet that her inspiration to study law came after she assisted in getting Alice Marie Johnson out of prison in 2018.
